Antique D & C Limoges France Hand- Painted Porcelain Planter w/ hole & Dish.
**This was intended for use as a milk can holder for condensed milk at turn of 19th Century. D&C France indicates that the porcelain piece was produced by Delinieres & Co., a manufacturer based in Limoges, France. The company mark dates it to 1895-1900.
Today it makes the perfect “jardiniere.”
Delicate decor or flower pot for indoor design. Even a jam jar holder. It was meticulously hand painted with a lovely fruit/floral motif featuring deep pink and purple berries with pale pink and white floral vines.
The piece is accented by two ornate gilded gold handles & the rim is delicately lined with a golden trim. The dish matches the same design & dips down to hold the porcelain. The D&C backstamp is on both pieces.
The condition is very good with no chips or cracks, some wear of gold on rim.
