Originally a 1935 opera written by George Gershwin, Porgy And Bess was made into a film with Sidney Poitier playing Porgy and Dorothy Dandridge as Bess. These are not the voices you will hear on this album, however, for Robert McFerrin dubbed the singing voice of Sidney and Adele Addison did the same for Dorothy. Other actors in the film were also dubbed, including Diahann Carroll, although not surprisingly Sammy Davis Jr does his own singing. Hallmark. 2010.
